Welcome

Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the local organizing committee, it is a great pleasure for me to welcome you, in person, to Lyon, France, for the 20th Congress of the European NeuroEndocrine Association (ENEA).

It has been three years and many virtual visits since the COVID-19 Pandemic put a pause on in-person congresses. Our theme in celebrating our 20th anniversary is SYNERGY, because we have learned—over these two decades and particularly in the wake of this virus—that we do our best when we collaborate.

The Program Organizing Committee, chaired by Marily Theodoropoulou & Andrea Isidori, has created for you a well-balanced scientific meeting between clinical and basic science.
This Congress will provide an opportunity to meet the future of neuroendocrinology with a Thursday a
fternoon organized by the EYRC followed by a poster-guided tour during a networking cocktail session.

In addition to the scientific program, we invite you to participate in some of Lyon’s culture. It is known as the “City of Light” with its Roman architecture (including UNESCO-listed heritage going back 2,000 years) and its bold contemporary creations. Lyon’s layout, featuring two rivers and three hills, makes this an unusual city, where you can travel to the new Confluence District from the Medieval and Renaissance Vieux- Lyon (Old Lyon) District by boat.

A er an exciting day at the ENEA Congress, you could start your evening walking the streets of the Old Quarter and Croix-Rousse neighborhoods or climbing to the top of Fourviere’s Hill to visit the Basilica with its panoramic view of Lyon. As well, you can take a respite with people watching or enjoy a walk or run along the banks of the Rhône River or in the Parc de la Tête D’or, located across from the convention center.

This week is your week to collaborate with peers from around the world. We hope you feel inspired and invigorated by the ENEA Congress and the beautiful city of Lyon.

Gérald Raverot

Chair of the Local Organizing Committee

For ENEA participants we remind you that the French Society of Neuroendocrinology organizes its Scientific Day (English-speaking congress) on September 6 and 7 in the same congress center. Reduced rates are available for ENEA members.
